For use primarily in the private sector, one uses a plug-in power supply unit or table power supply unit. Both types of power supply can be safely plugged into a conventional socket. Plug-in power supplies have a "Euro plug" that is built directly into the unit. For desktop power supplies, an additional IEC cable is required, which is plugged into the desktop power supply. Both types of power supply have a 2-wire connection cable on the secondary side and normally a DC plug 5.5/2.1mm.
